I have been asking myself for the last month a “should I stop drinking milk?” Cows milk that’s is. Here is An alternative to Cows Milk My Alpro review

I love a milky coffee and also milk in my impact whey protein. SO I bought these 3 Alpro alternatives to cows milk.

First up

Alpro Almond Unsweetened

ON ITS OWN

Look – Off white, almost pinky texture

Smell – not a distinctive smell, but sweet and not overpoweringly Almond

Taste – Watery, weird aftertaste. Not ‘milk’ like at all.

WITH COFFEE

image1
Look – it looks like a vending machine coffee.

Smell – coffee smell masks the smell of the milk.

Taste – obviously coffee jumps out straight away but no milk taste – almost watery coffee with an aftertaste. Not great if I am honest – would rather have black coffee

OVERVIEW – No point buying it, no taste makes my coffee watery. Skimmed milk would be better.

Second

Alpro Soya Original

ON ITS OWN

Look – Off white / Yellow

Smell – Sweet – maybe if anything slightly banana? But that could just be the smell of Soya itself not knowing what it smells like?!

Taste – sweet, thickish texture, slight aftertaste. Quite nice! Think I will have another glass!

WITH COFFEE

Look – looks good, like darkish coffee.

Smell – sweet coffee almost coffee. Nice

Taste – drinkable nice first impression.

OVERVIEW – Might need more of it to make it a milky coffee but nice. I like it.

Thirdly

Alpro Soya Light

ON ITS OWN

Look – Looks like cows milk, slightly cloudy

Smell – Like the Soya Original sweet little bit banana.

Taste – watery, with weird aftertaste.

WITH COFFEE

Look – like strong coffee. Maybe because it tasted water it actually is!

Smell – sweet coffee

Taste – horrible in my opinion. Watery with weird aftertaste. Better having it black or with skimmed milk.

OVERVIEW – like the for Alpro Almond Unsweetened I do not see the point in buying it.
All in all the outright winner is Alpro Soya Original. Hands down the easiest to drink on its own or with a coffee. However how do tehy stack up against each other nutritionally – Cows Milk Vs Soy Milk
